The Pandorica Opens AGAIN in Doctor Who: The Big Bang

Last Week. The Universe ended. Where do you go from there?

Well thankfully we didn’t have 55 mins worth of looking at a note saying ‘The universe ended last week, we’re really sorry, we don’t know what you’re doing here, didn’t you get the message?’. No this was far more interesting…

What we got was something very intimate compared to last weeks army of nightmares, and Steven Moffats love of using time travel itself to play a part of plot. In regards to the plot itself…. I’m not going to try and explain it, as it may result in a third big bang and the universe imploding in onto itself.

The real triumph of the finale must be “less is more”. Last week Amy Pond tackled a single unstoppable cyberman, in a scene that made cybermen scary again. This week its a single Dalek thats caught somewhere between existence and a thought, which supplies the fear of the unstoppable monster.

I suppose the  only qualm I have of this episode is…. the end. Went on for a whisper to long, and that conversation between Riversong and the Doctor… it just made me think there was more to come, that there was going to be one last shock, a really really big finish…but that didn’t seem to come. Alright so theres more questions that will be answered over the next few years, but it was quite a tease to end on…
